Terms of Service

Welcome to REM International Rent a Car L.L.C. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to comply with the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using our website or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service. These terms may be updated periodically, and continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Eligibility

To use our rental services, you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Hold a valid driving license for at least 3 years.
  • Provide accurate and complete personal and payment information.

3. Booking and Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • A refundable security deposit of AED 2,000 might be required
  • Deposits will be returned within 28 days after the rental period, minus any deductions for damages, fines, or fees.

4. Rental Period and Extensions

  • Rentals are calculated on a 24-hour basis. Late returns will incur additional daily rental rates.
  • Extensions must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time and are subject to approval and availability.

5. Vehicle Usage

  • Vehicles are for on-road use only. Off-roading, drifting, and dangerous driving are prohibited and will incur a fine of AED 2,000.
  • Only authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle. Unauthorized use voids the agreement and insurance.

6. Mileage and Fuel

  • A daily mileage limit of 250 kilometers applies for most vehicles. Additional kilometers will be charged at AED 5 per kilometer.
  • Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as provided. Refuelling charges and a service fee will apply for any shortfall.

7. Insurance and Liability

  • All vehicles are comprehensively insured, covering driver, passenger, and third-party liability.
  • Renters are liable for damages up to AED 15,000 plus 20% of repair costs and VAT for at-fault incidents documented with a red police report.
  • Insurance claims require a valid police report. Without it, renters bear full repair costs.

8. Damage Exclusions

  • Damage to tires, wheels, and rims is not covered by insurance and is the renter’s responsibility.
  • Repairs by unauthorised third-party garages are prohibited and will result in additional fees.

9. Traffic Violations and Penalties

  • Renters are responsible for all traffic fines, including speeding and parking violations.
  • Exceeding speeds of 140 km/h incurs a warning and a AED 2,000 penalty for repeat offence. A third violation will result in contract termination without refund and the vehicle being retrieved.

10. Vehicle Condition

  • Renters are responsible for inspecting the vehicle at the start of the rental. Pre-existing damages will be documented.
  • Vehicles must be returned in the same condition. Any additional damage will be charged.

11. Smoking Policy

  • Smoking in vehicles is strictly prohibited and incurs a AED 1,000 fine.

12. Salik and Tolls

  • Salik toll charges are billed at AED 6 per crossing and recorded during the rental period.

13. Breakdown and Roadside Assistance

  • Basic roadside assistance is included. For emergencies, contact the support number provided in the rental agreement.

14. Personal Property

  • REM International Rent a Car is not liable for personal items left in the vehicle. Renters are responsible for ensuring all belongings are removed upon return.

15. Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the rental period qualify for a full refund.
  • Late cancellations incur a 50% fee, and no-shows are charged the full rental amount.

16. Termination of Agreement

  • REM International reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement without refund for violations, including dangerous driving, unauthorized repairs, or unapproved extensions.

17. Data Privacy

  • Personal information is handled in compliance with applicable privacy laws and is used solely for rental processing and customer service.

18. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the UAE. Any disputes will be resolved under Dubai jurisdiction.

19. Modifications

  • REM International reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Users are encouraged to review them regularly.
